Skill Up English Practice – XI (Semester 1 & 2) is a practice book prepared for the students of Class XI under WBCHSE. The Council has introduced the New Curriculum and Question pattern in 2024. According to this pattern, the examination of Class XI will be conducted in two semesters. This book will cater to the students of both Semester 1 & 2.
Both the semesters will be conducted in 40 marks each. Semester 1 will be based on MCQ pattern and Semester 2 will be examined on SAQ and DAQ.
Semester 1 has been categorized into segments namely Prose, Verse, Rapid Reader, Textual Grammar, Unseen and Mock Test.Every Prose, Verse and Drama lesson has a Synopsis and Word Nest along with Para/Stanza-wise MCQs in adequate numbers. Textual Grammar has been incorporated at the end of every prose and verse lesson. Unseen passages on latest topics are included. School Question Corner has been added for every prose, verse, rapid reader, unseen and textual grammar chapters. Textbook Exercise has been added. MOCK TEST sets with OMR SHEETs have been added to help the students get used to the concept of OMR sheets.
Semester 2 has also been categorized into Prose, Verse, Rapid Reader, Non-textual Grammar, Writing Skill (Paragraph, Formal Letter and Event Report) and Mock Test sections.Prose and Verse sections have separate chapters, each with a Synopsis of the text and Word Nest. They are further enriched with SAQs of 2 marks and DAQs of 6 marks.Textbook Exercise has been added. Rapid Reader section also has Synopsis and Word Nest along with DAQs of 5 marks.Non-Textual Grammar section has detailed explanation along with ample exercises. Writing lessons have been provided with worked-out examples and questions for practice. MOCK TEST Sets have been added at the end with one model answer set.
