Skill Up English Practice – XI (Semester II) is a practice book prepared for the Semester II students of Class XI under WBCHSE. The Council has introduced the New Curriculum and Question pattern in 2024. According to this pattern, the examination of Class XI will be conducted in two semesters. This book will cater to the Semester II students. In this examination, all the questions will be in SAQ and DAQ pattern for Prose, Verse, Rapid Reader, Non-textual Grammar and Writing Skill.
i. Prose and Verse sections have separate chapters, each with a Synopsis of the text, Word Nest and Annotation. They are further enriched with SAQs of 2 marks and DAQs of 6 marks.
ii. Textbook Exercise has been added. It is an amalgamation of all the questions provided by the Council in their textbook.
iii. Rapid Reader section has Synopsis, Word Nest and Annotation along with DAQs of 5 marks.
iv. Non-Textual Grammar section has detailed explanation of the rules in tabular manner of the grammar chapters namely Tense, Voice, Narration, Phrasal Verbs, Articles and Prepositions, Clause, Participle and Gerund, Joining of Sentences, Transformation of Sentences and Correction of Errors.
v. Writing lessons on Paragraph, Formal Letter and Event Report have been provided with worked-out examples and ample questions for practice.
vi. 30 HS Sample Question Sets have been added at the end of the book with one model answer set. 40 marks question paper set, provided for practice, will help the students immensely.
